The UFC has requested Memorial Day and Independence Day-weekend dates for events in Las Vegas.
Nevada State Athletic Commission executive director Keith Kizer today confirmed via email with MMAjunkie.com; (www.mmajunkie.com) that UFC officials have served May 26 and July 7 for major events.
Both shows are planned for the MGM Grand Garden Arena.
The numbering hasn't been set for the events, though the May 26 show likely will be UFC 146.
Although not official confirmation that the events will take place, the UFC traditionally holds annual shows on the holiday weekends, when Las Vegas draws tens of thousands of tourists during its peak season.
MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) previously passed along news of the July 7 event. In addition to the fight event, a UFC Fan Expo will be held at the nearby Mandalay Bay Events Center from July 6-7. (Mandalay Bay also plays host to the next MMAjunkie.com Radio fan gathering that week.)
The UFC has hosted events on the Fourth of July weekend the past sixyears (though one in 2009, which marked the historic UFC 100 event, tookplace on July 11 instead of the actual July 4 holiday). All but onetook place in Las Vegas.
Additionally, The MGM Grand has hosted Memorial Day-weekend events the past five years.
No fights are rumored for this year's cards, though recovering heavyweight champion Junior Dos Santos is expected to compete at one of the two.

UFC's 'Ultimate Insider' debuts Tuesday on FUEL TV
The UFC's new weekly magazine show, "Ultimate Insider" debuts Tuesday on FUEL TV.
Hosted by UFC broadcaster Jon Anik, the show promises to bring all access profiles of top UFC talent, including behind-the-scenes and never-before-seen video footage.
The first 30-minute episode debuts Tuesday at 10:30 p.m. ET/PT andpromises features on UFC president Dana White, as well as top lightheavyweights Jon Jones and Dan Henderson.
"Ultimate Insider" is the latest addition to FUEL TV's MMA-related programming lineup that already includes "Best of PRIDE Fighting Championships," "Countdown to UFC," "UFC Reloaded," "UFC Tonight," "UFC Ultimate Knockouts" and "UFC Unleashed."
The channel also airs live fights, including Wednesday's "UFC on FUEL TV 1: Ellenberger vs. Sanchez."
The UFC recently moved much of its live-event programming from Spike TV to FX and FUEL TV thanks to its seven-year deal with FOX. Although currently cable TV's lowest-rated cable station (in which ratings information is available), FUEL TV has increased from approximately 30 million homes to 36 million in the past few months due in large part to the new UFC programming, which has set ratings records for the sports-oriented station.
Anik, who currently serves alongside Kenny Florian as a broadcaster for FUEL TV and FX's live UFC events, also hosts the upcoming 15th season of "The Ultimate Fighter."
"The UFC is one of the strongest brands in sports, and in my opinion, it's the greatest sport in the world," Anik stated when he first joined the company. "The product speaks for itself. More frequently than any other sport, the UFC delivers. I had the chance to be on the road at UFC events when I was with ESPN, and what separates the UFC from other sports is that it prides itself on being hands-on and fan-friendly."
"I look forward to helping play a small role in bringing the UFC to as many people across the world as possible. I'm really excited to a part of an organization that is filled with quality people who are the best in the world at what they do."

UFC 143 winner Matt Brown has no plans to call out his next opponent
These days, the UFC encourages fighters to air their matchmaking wishes in a public forum. Provided it's not too wacky a request, callouts can help gauge interest in future bouts.
But that's one offer Matt Brown is going to turn down.
"I sort of called out one person in my entire career, and that was Renzo (Gracie)," he told MMAjunkie.com Radio (www.mmajunkie.com/radio). "I wished I never did it; I pretty much got barred from their team."
Brown (13-11 MMA, 6-5 UFC) had the floor after knocking out Chris Cope (5-3 MMA, 1-2 ) on the preliminary card of this past weekend's UFC 143 event at Las Vegas' Mandalay Bay Events Center, but he kept quiet and instead chose to talk about becoming a better fighter. That didn't draw headlines, of course.
"When I get the media attention, I don't like it, and when I don't, I get mad," Brown said. "What it comes down to is if you win, you get the attention. If you don't, you don't get it."
Brown, of course, isn't hurting for places to train. He works in gyms around his home in Columbus, Ohio, after stints in Las Vegas and Seattle. But after he said he wanted a fight with Gracie (simply because he's such an MMA legend), Gracie's academy in New York City now is apparently off-limits.
"I'm never doing it again," he said of callouts.
Something Brown will vent about is the event's bonus situation. While he agrees that the "Knockout of the Night" winner, Stephen Thompson, impressed with a win via head kick over Dan Stittgen, he argues that he faced tougher competition that night.
"The guy he was fighting

Although friends with both, UFC's Munoz closely watching Silva vs. Sonnen
Although doctors denied his request, Mark Munoz wanted to carry around the bone fragments removed from his elbow like chips in a casino. There were 24 in all.
That's where MMAjunkie.com Radio (www.mmajunkie.com/radio) found him and got an update on his return following an injury and subsequent surgery that scratched him from the recent UFC on FOX 2 card.
Munoz's doctor says he'll be able to return to the cage in late June or July, but he's planning on coming back before that.
"I told him I'm like the Wolverine," Munoz (12-2 MMA, 7-2 UFC) said during an MMAjunkie.com Radio appearance this past week. "I'm going to come back sooner."
The UFC middleweight has dealt with the injury for two years, but in training for a fight with onetime title challenger (and current top contender) Chael Sonnen, it became more severe a week prior to the fight.
"It got to the point where with the onset of my injury, it dislodged from my bone and went into my joint space, and no matter if they pumped it up with cortisone, it was locking on me," Munoz said. "It was intense pain."
After a cortisone shot, Munoz got the bad news from a doctor in Los Angeles. Wanting to stay in the fight, he requested his elbow be treated with lidocaine, a numbing agent.

UFC on FOX 3 adds John Hathaway vs. Pascal Krauss
A welterweight bout between John Hathaway (15-1 MMA, 5-1 UFC) and unbeaten Pascal Krauss (10-0 MMA, 1-0 UFC) is the latest addition to the UFC on FOX 3 card.
UFC officials today announced the fight.
UFC on FOX 3 takes place May 5 at IZOD Center in East Rutherford, N.J. The main card, including a Jim Miller vs. Nate Diaz headliner, airs on FOX, and prelims are expected to air on FUEL TV.
It's not clear where Hathaway vs. Krauss will be situated on the card.
The fight is the UFC's second attempt at booking the fight after a UFC 138 meeting in November was scrapped when both fighters ultimately suffered injuries.
Hathaway rebounded from his first career loss, which came via unanimous decision to Mike Pyle at UFC 120, with a split-decision victory over Kris McCray. The McCray win came nearly a year ago at UFC Fight Night 24, so Hathway will go nearly 14 months between fights.
Before the Pyle loss, Hathaway, who fights out of England, posted a 14-0 record that included UFC victories over Thomas Egan, Rick Story, Paul Taylor and Diego Sanchez.
He now meets German fighter Krauss, who went 10-0 on his country's regional circuit before making an octagon debut at UFC 122 in November 2010. There, he earned a unanimous-decision victory over Mark Scanlon. It was his first time going to a decision; his first nine fights ended in stoppage victories (five in the first round).
Like Hathaway, Kraus has been dealing with injuries, and he'll now have a 19-month layoff between fights.
The latest UFC on FOX 3 card now includes:
Nate Diaz vs. Jim Miller Pat Barry vs. Lavar Johnson John Hathaway vs. Pascal Krauss John Dodson vs. Darren Uyenoyama Mike Massenzio vs. Karlos Vemola Louis Gaudinot vs. John Lineker For more on UFC on FOX 3, stay tuned to the UFC Rumors section of the site.
