by MMAjunkie.com Staff on Jan 12, 2012 at 3:30 pm ETFor seven years, "Judo" Jim Wallhead has been a fixture on his home country's regional MMA circuit.
Aside from a Bellator tournament entry, all of his work has taken place overseas, where he's become one of England's most successful fighters.
But with a slot on the HDNet-televised BAMMA 8 card and a booking with American big-show veteran Joey Villasenor, Wallhead had an opportunity to gain some international recognition back in December.
Each week HDNet and MMAjunkie.com release a new and exclusive fight fromthe ever-growing HDNet Fights video library. Stunning knockouts, slicksubmissions, shocking finishes and legendary brawls are the norm forthis weekly feature.
Wallhead vs. Villsenor is no exception.
In his previous bout, Villasenor (28-9 at the time) snapped a three-fight losing streak and handed Chuck Parmelee a TKO loss at a Jackson's MMA Series event. The bout marked his welterweight debut, and he remained in his new weight class against Wallhead (23-6), a well-rounded competitor who was searching for his 10th win in 11 fights.
Would Villasenor continue his rebound, or would Wallhead claim one of his biggest wins to date?
